Mr. Rivas advising on femtosecond laser machining for the LNG industry at the US - Canada Energy Trade Mission in Toronto.
Rivas - Patents & Innovations Technologies was founded by Victor A. Rivas, a serial inventor with multiple patents awarded/pending, who specializes in engineering disruptive, cost-effective technologies. He has collaborated and consulted in technology development with NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Southwest Research Institute. He has spoken as a lecturer at numerous conferences, panels & symposiums on patents & engineering technology, such as Nanotech Middle East 2020 - Dubai.
Starting 30 years ago, Mr. Rivas joined the U.S. Department of Energyʼs Oak Ridge National Lab Metals and Ceramics Division, where he worked under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CREDA) to develop advanced conductive composite materials for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and electrostatic discharge (ESD). He was awarded a patent for his work in the field of EMI shielding and ESD technologies.
Mr. Rivas joined the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Glenn Research Center from 1992 to 2010. While there, he collaborated with NASA under the Space Act Agreements to develop a wide range of space technologies with great potential for terrestrial applications, such as space power hybrid power systems batteries, super capacitors and solar cells.
Mr. Rivas has collaborated in different environmental projects with the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas and holds patents in conductive biodegradable plastics and IP in biodiesel mobile plants for cruise ships to make biodiesel from waste cooking oil.
